I started my career designing buildings to frame people’s stories(18 stories to be exact, with windows, and an elevator) and now I’m exporting my skills to design digital products that build on impactful relationships with its users.
I’m Karen,
an architect turned UX designer
From designing a school that redefines education through play for homeless students to planning and overseeing construction for a massive $2 billion university hospital project the past three years, my education and career has instilled my love for compassionate design through rigorous user research and out of the box problem solving. Translating these skills into the UX universe has been excitingly new and comfortingly similar. I aim to optimize complex digital products with creative and simple solutions that prioritize user needs and business goals.
Why design?
I want to continue my mission of designing on the foundations of empathy by collaborating with all types of people in and out of the industry. Together, I want to create products that redefine what it means to care about user needs through some creative excavating - powered by curiosity. Join me on my journey!
